1. The Editorial Board accepts the manuscripts only if they meet the requirements of DSTU 7152: 2010 to the structure of the scientific paper. The latter should contain the following essential elements:

- problem statement in general and in connection with important scientific or practical tasks;

- aim, objectives and relevance of the research;

- analysis of recent researches and publications that focus on solving the problem under consideration, mentioning positive aspects of others’ work and highlighting limitations of previous studies;

- an outline of the main research material with full justification of the scientific results obtained;

- conclusion from this study and prospects for further investigation in this field.

- manuscripts accepted for publication in the journal should cover a wide range of topical issues on literature, folklore and linguistics, in particular:

- coverage of important theoretical and methodological problems of literary studies;

- research of genre-thematic features of texts of oral folk art, problems of folklore-literary interaction;

- study of phonetic, semantic and grammatical structure of language in synchrony and diachrony, etc.


2. The text of the publication should correspond to the following structural scheme:

- on the left in capital letters the academic field of study to which the article belongs (LITERATURE STUDIES or LINGUISTICS)

- the author’s name and surname;

- the title of the publication in the center of the page in bold letters;

- an abstract in the language of the publication (italics);

- a list of keywords with a subheading Keywords: (italics);

- the body of the paper;

- Bibliography List, prepared in accordance with the Requirements for bibliographic references;

- the title of the publication on the center of the page in bold letters in English;

- an extended abstract in English (35 lines, italics); for publications in other languages an extended abstract in Ukrainian is required.

The extended abstract is made in accordance with the «Recommendations for preparing journals for the foreign analytical database SCOPUS», concluded by the members of the group on scientific and methodological support of the publishing activity of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (http://www.nbuv.gov.ua/node/931).

3. Requirements for submission:

- articles are accepted in Microsoft World 97-2003 format. Volume – from 8 to 15 pages including drawings, tables and list of bibliography. The main text of the article is the font TimesNewRoman, the keg 14, the interval – 1,5; margins are mirror: 2,5 sm;

- The researchers mentioned in the text should be numbered in alphabetical order – E. Fromm, K. Jaspers, K. Jung, M. Tarde and others. At the beginning, the name is given, and then the scholar’s surname.

The publications are included in international scientometric databases, therefore it is necessary to follow a number of rules when submitting bibliographies.

To comply with the requirements of international databases, it is important to provide TWO LISTS OF REFERENCES to the sources used in the paper: “Bibliography List” and the additional list of references in the Latin alphabet “References”.

The Bibliography List and References are given at the end of the paper and are placed one after the other under the appropriate headings: “Bibliography List” and “References”, respectively. The title is placed in the centre of the usual font. The Bibliography List and References include the same sources. The number of sources in the Bibliography List should match the number of sources in the References section. In the Bibliography list, the sources are listed in alphabetical order, first – sources published in Cyrillic, then sources published in foreign languages (Latin). Because the Cyrillic alphabet is different from the Latin one, the order of the sources in the References may differ from that of the Bibliography List.

Bibliography List

The Bibliography List is placed after the text of the paper in alphabetical order of the sources used with the subtitle Bibliography List.

The bibliography should be based on the Harvard Referencing Style, which is the most common international citation style in the humanities and social sciences. There is no specific form of Harvard Referencing Style for citing and describing links, as there is no organization to develop it.

References to the sources are made according to the rules of Harvard Referencing Style directly in the text in parentheses, which indicate the name of the author of the publication, year of publication and (if necessary) page number in the following format, for example: (Ushakova, 2011) or (Gvozdev, 1961, p 374). The information in parentheses should identify the specific source indicated in the Bibliography, the author's name and year of publication, as well as the page number. All sources in parentheses must be listed in the Bibliography List.

Sources in the list are not numbered, but organised in alphabetical order by the names of the authors. If there is more than one reference in the list by the same author, they are sorted by date, starting with the earliest, 2000a, 2000b, etc. If the material does not have an author, it must be divided by the first letter of its title.

Each bibliographic description of the source begins with a new line with width alignment without indents. If the bibliographic description of the source occupies several lines, then the first line of the description is aligned in width without indents, and the following lines – with an indentation of 1.25 cm.

In a publication (book or jornal) the title is always highlighted in italics.

The place of publication is indicated before the name of the publisher.

Commas are used to separate record elements.

DOI.
The vast majority of foreign journal articles since 2000 and many articles in Ukrainian published in recent years are registered in the CrossRef system and have a unique digital identifier (Digital Object Identifier – DOI). In all cases where the cited material has a DOI, it must be indicated at the very end of the bibliographic reference. Check for DOI at the source at http://search.crossref.or

Non-English sources
Unlike the Bibliographic List, non-English sources in References should be cited in their Latin equivalent, i.e. they should be written in Romance letters.
TRANSLITERATION and TRANSLATION IN ENGLISH should be used to write references to non-English language sources.
Names of authors, editors. The surnames and initials of all authors in Latin should be cited in the link as they are provided in the original publication. If the authors' full names have already been given in Latin in the original publication, this option should be indicated in the reference to the article (regardless of the transliteration system used in the original source). If in official sources (on the journal's website, in databases) the names of the authors are not given in Latin they should be transliterated. If there are several authors, then the last name of the last of them is replaced by a comma and.

Books.
If the cited source is written in Latin (English, German and other languages using the Romance alphabet), reference should be made to the original language of the publication.
Initially, Cyrillic materials (and parts thereof) in which there is an official translation into English (or another language using the Romance alphabet) should be translated.
For books (or parts thereof) for which there is no translation, it is necessary to provide transliteration into Latin and translation of the title into English. Indicate the language of the publication in parentheses at the end of the description. For references to Ukrainian-language sources, for example, the phrase “(in Ukrainian)” should be used.
Journal article.
If in the cited work there is an official translation into English or an English version of the title (it should be searched on the official website of the journal, in scientometric databases, including the WorldCat library) it should be indicated.
If there is no translation of the title of the article in official sources, it should be transliterated into Latin and then translated into English. If the journal does not have an official name in English, its references should be transliterated in References. The translation is taken in square brackets and placed immediately after the transliterated name. You should not translate journal titles yourself. It is not allowed to shorten (or otherwise change) the titles of articles and titles of journals. At the very end of the reference, after specifying the number of pages in parentheses, indicate the language of the publication. For references to Ukrainian-language sources, for example, the phrase “(in Ukrainian)” should be used.

4. Additional materials:

- authors are required to include the application form (see corresponding Sample) with their surname, name, patronymic (in full); scientific degree, academic title, position, place of work; postcode, home address and phone numbers, email addresses. All information is available in three languages: Ukrainian, Russian and English.

- papers whose authors have no scientific degree should have an external review written by the candidate or doctor of sciences in the specialty of publication or an extract from the minutes of the department meeting containing the recommendation for publishing the article. A scanned review or an extract from the minutes are submitted. Publication of articles by masters in co-authoring with their research advisor is allowed.


5. The Editorial Board expects that the materials have not been previously published or submitted for publication in other editions, and contain accurate information. The author is responsible for the reliability of facts, statistics and other information. Each article will be checked for plagiarism in the Unicheck plagiarism search service. The Editorial Board reserves the right to review, edit, reduce and reject the articles, as well as the right to publish, distribute and use materials in science and science databases and open access resources, on the Internet (the electronic library of Mariupol State University). The editorial staff may not share the ideological beliefs of the authors.
